The task:    provide Senator Jim Webb's new PAC with an online presence in a short period of time ahead of his State of the Union response.

The result:    An attractive, dynamic, easy-to-use online portal allowing the Senator's political staff to quickly and easily update the site with news, featured candidates, and online conversation.

In mid-January Senator Jim Webb was tapped to provide the Democratic response to President Bush's State of the Union Address. When this was announced, the PAC needed an effective website and they needed it quickly. It only made sense to turn to the organization that built his successful campaign website: Political Synapse.

Leveraging the power of open source, we quickly deployed  a dynamic website which allows quick and easy updating while maintaining a "custom" feel. We wanted to ensure that Senator Webb's supporters could stay up-to-date with the organizations political efforts. The blog-style capabilities of the content management system allows the PAC to emphasize relevant content without having the feel of being "just a blog."

Our enterprise-level content management system provides the PAC with the ability to control their website quickly and cost-effectively. Any staff member with proficiency in Microsoft Word can edit their website.  The content management system also allows the staff to easily decide which articles make the front page, in what order the articles appear, and even allows quick and easy "archival" of particular items to more effectively manage content presentation.

We also tightly integrated the site with the PAC's backend at GetActive which allowed contribution data, email signups and unsubscribes, and other data to flow easily and freely between all the data storage points utilized by Born Fighting. Through this tight integration the PAC now easily manages broadcast email services, contributions, and other outreach activities in one database. The data provided by GetActive helps us identify how effective their email marketing is and identify areas in which together we can improve click through and unsubscribe rates.
